Happy two weeks little one

Can you believe it's already been two weeks since we this little one came into the world? Every single day I'm still amazed that we could ever make anything that cute. Here are some photos over the past two weeks just to share some of the cuteness factor.
Tony loves taking pictures of me sleeping with her- partially because he enjoys how much Bridget looks like me.

Her pirate eye

This one is for you Grandma Tricia! As you can see it fit her perfectly 5 days after birth with some minor alterations.

Bonding time with Nana

Sleepy smiles

Bear is becoming braver with the baby every day. He has even licked her toes once.

Here is one of her adorable poses that she likes to fall asleep into while being burped. You can see some heat rash and "milk neck" on her shoulders. It's almost completely cleared up now.

Dad and baby sweating it out in a nap.

More Nana time

That leg

Here you can see she has a ring around the pupil that is beginning to lighten.

Yesterday (Sunday) my mom went back home to the states. Having her here was the biggest blessing that I almost didn't want. When we were planning on who might be here, I just kept saying "I don't know if my mom should come- there's nothing to do here, it's too hot, and I just want it to be us for a little bit." Boy I'm glad she insisted on coming. I was so run down, exhausted, confused, hungry (like all the time), and emotional the past two weeks that I don't know what it would have been like to not have her here. And Tony observed that the past three weeks resulted in less fighting between my mom and I than he's ever seen. This made me wonder if maybe I'm too strong-willed, independent, and prideful to really get along with my mother. Maybe if I would just accept help and advice sometimes, maybe I wouldn't get into as many fights. Anyway, having her here was wonderful and we learned a lot from her.

So I need to share a story with you all to let you know Little Britches is not as perfect as the pictures portray her to be.

Last night (Sunday) we had been Skyping with Tony's family as usual. The whole time she was sleeping and sucking her pacifier, overall being a perfect angel. As soon as we finished talking to his family, we began talking to mine and she started fussing a little bit. Tony began changing her diaper while I was talking to my mom and dad because he's an amazing husband like that. I pointed the computer camera toward Bridget so that my parents could see how good of baby she is while having her diaper changed. Tony took off her old diaper, was cleaning her and all of the sudden she makes this nasty fart noise, you know, the kind a middle-schooler  makes with their mouth, and shoots poo across the bed! My mom laughed and said I bet she's not done.... Well before Tony could get another diaper under her, she begins pooing again on the bed, but a lot. I didn't even know what to do. My computer was just pointed at her, I was holding up her legs, and Tony was trying to catch as much of the poo as he could with the wet wipe. All I could think was "make it stop! MAKE IT STOP!" I feel like there was more poo coming out of her than I had ever seen in her diaper. I know, I'm probably exaggerating, but it seemed to go on forever. Needless to say, we changed our sheets last night. And we will always use the changing pad from now on.

Welcome Little Bridget

Okay, I know you all want to know the story. I don't really want to relive it, so if you want details about the actual hospital experience, ask Tony. Maybe if he is feeling up to it, he'll record his honest opinions- like he would ever share anything other than honesty :)

Contractions started around 3 a.m. and around 8 a.m. we were told to head into the hospital. Here are our excited faces:

Here is after 11 hours since the first contractions. Tony made sure time stamps documented things correctly.

Bridget Marina DeAngelo was born a 6:29 p.m. 7 lbs. 6 oz. 18 inches long.

I felt like crap but it's funny how eyeliner hides our secrets.

Tony was soooooo excited to be a daddy. I absolutely love how he looks at her.

This picture probably captures his feelings best.

Her first hiccups:

Look at all that hair!

Yes, all 10 toes. This also shows her love of planking. She keeps her legs straight quite often, whether it be for diaper changings or sleeping.

Ready to go home!

My first words when she was placed on me was "look at those nails!" Seriously, the tips seem just as long as the nail itself.

Her first bath :)

Caught in a nap.

She loves her little bouncer because it vibrates.

How Bear feels about his little sister.
