Cool fact: Tony's birthday is Bridget's half birthday. Therefore, from now on, we will always celebrate Tony's and Bridget's birthdays and half birthdays. If I bake a cake, I will always make one little cupcake for the other too. I wanted to start this year, but Tony wanted his dad's famous waffle cookies, so no cake was baked. Ha. I did make cupcakes for Tony's party though, so Bridget had some of those. No personal one this time.

Everything has been clicking this past month. I cannot get enough of Bridget's little smiles, giggles and talking. It's when she begins getting loud that I ask her to stop haha. I feel more like a mom; more so than I have before. I can't really explain it, but I am excited about whatever changed. I'm sure it was a change of heart along with experience, acceptance and being forced to deal. All in all, I feel better. I feel better about being a full-time mom and living down here. I feel better about how I look thanks to the exercise challenge (I'm back to pre-pregnancy weight!) and haircut. I even feel more confident about my cooking abilities. There have been a lot of changes that have brought me to where I am now, but I still have a little farther to go. Friends will make life easier, I just have to put myself out there... ugh... I really don't want to do that haha. I can teach a bunch of strangers how to create origami, but make me sit one-on-one with someone and it freaks me out. I'll work on it though. I've also done some little crafts here and there. I had a go with polymer clay this previous month and kind of liked it. I created some relateable Disney princesses for Bridget and mini animals to put in some Easter eggs for other kids to have.

Tony has been doing great in school. Maybe great is too strong of a word, but he's passing everything. He works super hard every single day and still finds time to share his snacks with Bridget or motivate her to walk (in her walker) towards him. Seriously BEST. DAD. EVER. Can't you just tell from this picture?? --->

Bridget loves getting to walk. We put her in her walker, but it doesn't move as easily as mom or dad, so she usually just stands in it and plays with toys while I cook or clean. Bear loves the contraption too! The other morning he learned why Bridget is going to be his best friend- any food that falls off her tray is his. YES!!! Weird thing though- I've caught Bear standing on the rim of the walker and pushing her. Is that normal?? Is he trying to show dominance over her or is he actually just playing with her? I've caught him pushing her three times over the month and he stops as soon as I look at him. Bear has definitely been learning to love Bridget- he'll let her stand and hold onto him, take his toys, and lay on him. He kisses her hands, legs, mouth (when mom and dad aren't looking) and wherever else. He's kind of a weird dog, but at least he's loving.

Now besides walking, Bridget has not figured out crawling. She can, however, scootch and drag herself wherever she wants. She has perfected the tummy spinning, army drag, and streeeetch-and-reach techniques. She often puts her knees under her and does the baby push up, but won't use them for actual crawling. Any day now though, it'll click for her and she'll be off. Her new obsession are our computers. She'll find one way or another to make it across the bed or table to touch them.

Bridget is also babbling a lot. No real words although we've had false hopes. First scare- Biddy and I were playing with Bear. I always say "Hi Bear Bear!" when we come out into the living room area and begin playing. I had thrown the ball and when he went to fetch it, Bridget said " Baa Baa!" Too hopeful? Probably. Tony heard it from the other room and said "I don't like the sound of that! Her first words are supposed to be Momma or Daddy, not Bear!" Second occurrence: I was washing Biddy's hands after feeding her dinner and she was getting angry about that. In frustration she yelled "maa maaa MAA MMMAAAAA!" Lucky coincidence I think but it happened. Finally, just the other night Tony was holding her, having her look at him. She was babbling with a lot of "ahhhs," "buhs," and LOTS of blowing raspberries. She stopped at one point and said "Daa-Da," turned and looked around, and then tried to run off and play with a toy. Close enough! We'll take it! For the record though, no official words have been spoken.

Rooster's eating experiences have been going great! We found she's not allergic to anything yet. We were worried when we had given her peaches and within half an hour she got this really ugly breakout all around her mouth. The second time we had fruit salad which had peaches in it and she didn't have a problem with it. Lucky us I suppose, but still worrisome.

Let's play a game: which is the lime?
Answer: The yellow/orange one. The green is the lemon. |

Adorable trick of the month- Bridget is learning how to kiss! At this point it's more like a whole-mouth slobber circle on your cheek, but it's a kiss. You have to say "kisses!" and then kiss her on the cheek once or twice. Then you ask her for a kiss and she'll open her mouth and lean in. It's adorable and kind of gross at the same time, but I love it. She's also sitting up by herself and even drinking sitting up from time to time. This past month we were told by two people that her cries don't sound like a baby anymore. She's growing up- sad to think about, but joyous at the same time.
Biddy got to celebrate a few holidays this past month: St. Patrick's Day and Easter. She had an adorable St. Patty's dress that was a little thick for down here, so we just wore it to church, took a picture or two and it came right off. I wish she could've worn it on actual St. Patrick's Day... Too bad our house isn't air conditioned. For Easter our little branch friends threw a pre-Conference/Easter brunch. All four of the October girls were able to show off their dresses and "play." I had to edit the nicer pictures with the best shots from the four girls. Believe it or not, the recomposites have their best face hahaha. It's kind of frustrating sometimes that Bridget is the oldest of the bunch and by far the smallest. I guess I was hoping with Tony's height she wouldn't be teeny like me. *Sigh* Maybe she'll have a growth spurt.

Pool days are the absolute best. I cannot get over this swimsuit though. When we found out we were having a girl, this was the first outfit we bought her. I'm so glad we did. Just look at that belly!
